The team—now known as “Orgless”—was briefly under the financial wing of CSGO.one, a site where you can gamble with in-game Counter-Strike skins. While part of the organization, they made some pretty decent strides, qualifying for the European Minor Championship and finishing top four in the first qualifier for IEM Katowice, among other things. The issues are legion with the most serious centring around Ubisoft's servers. At launch these had a tick rate of 30, which is how many times per second it updates the position of each player. This is not nearly high enough for a competitive shooter (CS:GO pro matches are on 128-tick servers), and sure enough one of the first switches was to 60-tick servers. Latency was a major issue at launch too, but despite patches that claimed to fix it you can still be shot by someone that you just didn't see. Even worse, the killcams often show how unfair everything was, with your killer shooting a full second after you got into cover, yet the boomerang headshot still landing.Server problems like this are accentuated by the fact that Siege doesn't have a server browser—which you'd expect from any competitive FPS on PC. That's sidelined in favour of Ubisoft's own servers. This puts Ubisoft's credibility at stake with regards to online, because if the publisher's matchmaking and servers aren't good—and at the moment they're terrible—players have nowhere else to go.Folks creating servers that allow for custom skins are throwing that system right out the window. If you see someone with a rad skin on these servers, it's likely a mod that they plugged into the game or even purchased from another player, which in affect takes money out of Valve's pocket for cosmetic items.Counter-Strike: Global Offensive came out back in August and succeeded in delivering a multiplayer first-person shooter experience reminiscent of the classic Counter-Strike games that became so popular in the 2000s.

As things stand, Siege is a potentially brilliant game that's smothered by the very people who would benefit if it succeeds. You don't have to look far in the FPS graveyard before seeing games that deserved better, and Evolve's corpse is so fresh it's almost twitching. No game has a divine right to succeed, though. Zealots like me can only pray Ubisoft sees the light, even if it may already be too late.Online-only game retailer, code seller and general provider of cheap products Kinguin have announced they're opening a store specifically for the sale and trade of CS:GO weapon skins for cold, hard cash. They're not the only ones, with G2A having their own section of their store for similar purposes. There is third party selling of codes for skins in other games like League of Legends, but the nature of the economy is so different that they're less of a currency, more of a luxury item, and less procurable for selling. You can't both use and then resell a code for PAX Sivir, for example, while a Crimson Web Huntsman Knife is good to go whenever. There are a few CS: GO Twitch streamers who open hundreds of cases per week while spectators watch in hopes of capturing the moment where something of great rarity is found. One of these streamers is ONSCREENlol, a very popular personality who opened more than 10,000 cases in 2015Instead of speculating on how rare the good items really are, or basing their findings on a small sample size, one player decided to take the results from all 10,761 ONSCREENlol case openings in the last 12 months to come up with a relatively accurate explanation for why players are so used to seeing valueless Mil-Spec items when they open cases.

The reason some users have attempted to sell items outside of Valve’s official marketplace is simple: When a user sells an item through Valve’s marketplace, they can only use the proceeds to buy other weapon skins, or new games on Steam, said Minacov, who runs the company from his parent’s basement.Financially people can now make a living off it. i think it's wonderful. I think if this was around in my day, I would have really been able to make a fair bit of money. I think it's really great for the industry. It really promotes growth in terms of creating new talent. Who knows, in the future I may want to hire a lot of the guys out there making these mods.I don't think FPSes are as exciting as they used to be. I tried to contribute to fixing this, but I don't think... Tactical Intervention has not succeeded in terms of addressing some of the problems. There's some stuff in TI that I really enjoy playing, but other stuff like the hostage mode, it didn't really pan out as well as I'd hoped.

But the good news is, for the most part, Valve will give your dosh back if you’re unhappy. One such platform is CSGO Lounge(an independent site not affiliated with Valve Software, which develops the game itself). The site allows spectators to bet in-game add-ons known as skins - weapons, tools and the like - on the results of matches.Online gambling is illegal in many European countries and CSGO Lounge does not appear on the register of approved gambling providers in France or the UK, which do permit some online betting. Neither does EGB.com, a Costa Rica-based site that also allows users to bet on eSports using real money.Speaking of pro teams, again on Reddit poster FalZen noticed that Team Question Mark player Dupreeh posted that he was signing the team to a new sponsor today. It's yet to be announced, but a further bit of sleuthing points out that Team Secret, of Dota fame, have recently changed their Twitter handle from a Dota-specific one to the more general @teamsecret and were recently varified. They've also just opened a YouTube channel with the tagline "It's a Secret" and flashy intro vid:

P?sse: Erm?glichen Zugang zu bestimmten Operationen (Ereignisse)On July 9th, Montreal is hosting the ESWC Counter-Strike: GO World Finals, and OPSkins will be the main sponsor, investing $100,000 in the event. “It’s huge for our city,” said Minacov.Valve said on Twitter "it is important to us to get current players in the beta. That will happen. No ETA on when yet".2. Choose More Tools, and then select Extensions. Kevlar & helmet - $1,000

The current state of gaming peripherals is all about shades of black, hits of color, and exciting edges. To different degrees, the boards are in line with that look. While the Logitech has wild loops and angles, the Razer and SteelSeries are a bit more subdued, with smooth corners, matte and glossy black, and stylized print on the keycaps.“Resolution-wise, the gap has closed on a great many titles,” confirms Rich Leadbetter, a performance analysis specialist at Digital Foundry. “While disparities remain – Call of Duty Advanced Warfare for example – many of this year’s biggies like GTA 5, Destiny and Assassin’s Creed Unity are all very close indeed. They run at the same resolution on each machine with only minor differences separating them. Games that really push the CPU (as opposed to the graphics) are thin on the ground at the moment, there’s evidence here that Xbox One can actually pull ahead in some scenarios, as its eight cores run faster than their PS4 equivalents. There’s no clear reason for anyone to buy into Valve’s platform right now. The audience that might be most sympathetic to the idea, devoted PC gamers, are far better off just buying or building a Windows-based machine so they can take advantage of everything Steam and PC gaming has to offer. And there’s a lot to offer! The idea of the Steam Machine is actually really compelling, provided it brings everything that’s great about PC gaming to the couch. PC gaming has long had a leg-up over consoles in important areas: the games are usually cheaper, there’s a lot more indie stuff to play, the graphics are better, you can upgrade the hardware over time, and there’s a whole world of game modification that unlocks and transforms popular titles in weird and surprising ways. Instead of offering the best of both worlds, Steam Machines sit in a strange middle ground that’s too confusing and too compromised to make sense for anyone. The GT72 Dominator Pro G is MSI's latest gaming notebook, primarily symbolic for its inclusion of nVidia's GTX 980 desktop GPU. Last month, we reported that desktop GTX 980 GM204 chips were en route to the notebook market, already integrated in various form factors and manufacturer offerings. We've gotten hands-on with a few GTX 980 notebooks – the Aorus X7 DT, CLEVO P870DM, ASUS GX700VO, MSI GT72 – and have seen form factors spanning slim (<1” thickness) through the usual “desktop replacement” models (2”, for the GT72).If the enemy knows you've taken an AWP or another valuable weapon, it may even go out of its way to hunt you down in the final moments of the round. In this situation, a secondary, riskier way to do economic damage to an opponent on an eco is to go for “exit kills,” or positioning yourself to lose the round, but kill one or two players as they're exiting a known position (usually one at a time, to look for you in the waning seconds of the round).

Most players, and reviewers, placed blame of its low popularity on its inability to evolve the franchise. Veterans noted that it was a step back in a few ways, namely how the community server window was hidden from view in favor of matchmaking as well as its poor competitive scene support. It looked as if history was going to repeat itself, and CS 1.6 would remain the most popular title in the franchise despite its age.
